This article will guide you how to install Laravel through Softaculous.

First, make sure the PHP version of your root folder is compatible with the version of Laravel you wish to install. Softculous offer only the latest version of Laravel (currently version 5.4), which requires PHP 5.6 or later. You also need to make sure that the phar and mcrypt PHP extensions are enabled.

If you are hosted with WebHostFace you can easily activate them from the “Select PHP Version” option:

install laravel

If you wish to install Laravel in a subfolder, see our guide on how to change the PHP version per directory.

After making those configurations enter Softaculous which is also located under the “Software/Services” section in your Cpanel.

Search for “Laravel” in the search bar in the upper right corner. All you need to do is choose the domain for your new Laravel installation and choose the location in the “In Directory” section. If you want to install it in your public_html leave the field blank.

Keep in mind that by default, Laravel is installed in a subfolder called /public. To configure Laravel to open directly via your domain, follow the steps here.

If you wish to install an older version of Laravel, you need to use Composer. To install Laravel through Composer, follow the steps here. You can always contact the WebHostFace Team for Laravel assistance as well!

If you want to install Oxwall manually you need to start by downloading the zip file from their official website.

Then you need to upload it to the desired folder and unzip it by right-clicking on it and selecting ‘Extract’.

After that open the folder containing the Oxwall files in your browser. If you have placed them in your public_html/oxwall/ folder , you should access it trough www.mywebsite.com/oxwall/

From there you can start the installation process.

If you get messages about missing PHP extensions, you can enable them from your cPanel >PHP Modules.

I. On the first step you will need to enter some basic information about the website. Be sure to provide a valid administration email and write down the username and password for the admin user.

Welcome to Oxwall Installation

II. The second step is the database connection. Here you will need to create a new empty database from cPanel > MySql Databases , create a MySql username (also write down the password for it).

Once created you need to add the username to the database. If you scroll down a bit on the ‘MySql Databases’ page in cPanel you will see ‘Add User To Database’ section where you have 2 drop-down menus.

Select the two newly created database and username and click ‘Add’. After that you will be redirected to a new page where you need to check ‘ALL PRIVILEGES’ and click ‘Make Changes’.

Then you can return to the Oxwall installation. You should fill the text fields as follows:

Oxwall installation - configure database

Host: localhost
User: your_mysqluser
Password: your_databasepass
Database Name: your_dbname
Table prefix: ow_

III. On the next step click ‘Continue’ to set the cron job running on every minute, we will edit it to run on every 10 minutes after the installation.

IV. This is the last step where you can select which plugins you would like to install along side with the application. Once you are done click ‘Finish’.

On the next page you should be presented with the ‘Installation complete’ message. From there you can choose to view the main page or the admin area.

Now we should change the time of the cron job that is running on every minute. In cPanel click on ‘Cron Jobs‘ under the Advanced tab.
If there is no cron job set to run on every minute you need to add it with the following command:

wget -q -O /dev/null http://mywebsite.com/ow_cron/run.php

Set 10 on ‘minute’ value and on all the rest set *. It should look like this:

10 * * * * wget -q -O /dev/null http://mywebsite.com/ow_cron/run.php

If there is already a cron job set, at the right end click ‘Edit‘ and change the value 1 to 10 and click ‘Edit line’.

Oxwall cron job setup

You can go to the main page and finish your profile set-up and you should be logged in as admin.

With this the manual installation of Oxwall is completed.

If you are using our hosting packages, then you can quickly and easily install Zurmo through our cPanel auto-installer – Softaculous. If, however, you want to install Zurmo manually, then follow this simple procedure to do so:

  • The first step is to download the Zurmo installation package from the official Zurmo website. Choose the latest stable version and download the .zip archive file to your computer.

Download Zurmo

  • Next you should upload the .zip archive file to a folder in your hosting account using FTP or the cPanel File Manager. After that just Extract the archive into the folder you wish your Zurmo CRM to open from.

*Note: Make sure there is a domain or subdomain (eg. mydomain.com; zurmo.mydomain.com) pointed to that folder, unless you desire to open it through a subfolder. Also make sure that the files are extracted in the folder you desire to and not some subfolder (eg. zurmo) as that will make your CRM open through that subfolder (eg. mydomain.com/zurmo).

  • Create a database and a database user for it with all privileges using the MySQL Database Wizard in your cPanel.
  • Open the domain or subdomain you have uploaded the Zurmo installation package to. You can look through the Welcome screen but don’t worry you won’t need all the things specified there to make the installation. Just click on Click to start.

Zurmo manual installation welcome screen

  • On the next step the installer will check our system against the Zurmo installation requirements. Our servers are configured to run Zurmo without a glitch but there are some optional services which might give you FAIL or WARNING.
  • Our Apache version is 2.2.1 like the minimum required even though Zurmo can’t detect it. The other PHP extensions really are optional and are not required for your Zurmo CRM to run properly. You can however, enable them as well as change your PHP version through the PHP version selector in your cPanel you have with us.

Zurmo system check

  • When you are done and have enabled the PHP extensions you desire from the optional ones, you can Recheck the system and see if everything is as you desire and Continue to install Zurmo manually.

Zurmo recheck system

  • After that you would have to enter the database information for the database we created earlier. You should also enter your super user password. Remove Existing Data should be ticked as you are modifying an existing database. If you have enabled the memcache PHP extension, you would have to contact us so that we can supply you with the Memcache Hostname and Port Number for the server you are located in. Anything else is either optional or pre-entered for you.

install Zurmo manually

  • After pressing Install, the installer will start the process and give you a Sign in link to log into your new Zurmo CRM installation.

installation of Zurmo is complete

Feel free to contact with any questions you might be having or to install Zurmo manually for you. We’ll be more than happy to do so.
